Kazakhstan Pavilion, Astana Expo 2017

This pavilion was the main building of the Kazakhstan Expo, designed with a spherical form divided between eight themed floors. The first was dedicated to the National Pavilion, and the other seven were dedicated to a different technology for energy generation. BGL was responsible for the execution of the exhibition area of two levels of the building: the first has an area of 2,400m2 dedicated to the host country of Kazakhstan, and the second has an area of 800m2 dedicated to hydraulic energy.

The Kazakhstan pavilion focuses on the country’s natural beauty, highlighting aspects related with its culture, traditions and projects on the energy of the future.

The main audiovisual display of the exhibition is synchronised with an interactive display on the famous Kazakh legend of Baiterek. On the second level, dedicated to hydraulic energy, visitors can find different ways to use water, from a replica of an old Hama water wheel and fun workshops for children, to the most innovative technology on wave and tidal energy use, highlighting the potential of water as the energy source of the future.
