The goal of the new division is to export Grupo Secuoya’s business model to emerging markets, especially in Latin America
Carlos Benito joins Grupo Secuoya’s team as Director for International Development in order to begin the group’s international expansion. Carlos Benito has extensive international experience. He was previously employed by Plural Entertainment as former Chief Operations Officer for New Business and as General Manager for Portugal thereafter. In addition, he participated in incorporating the North American channel V-me into Spanish group Prisa TV, following its acquisition.
Grupo Secuoya’s international expansion follows the strategic decisions taken after N+1 joined the company with a fund of 20 million euros dedicated to the company’s new projects. Among these projects we find the acquisition of new companies from the audiovisual industry’s value chain and the creation of an international network made up of contents producers from the Spanish-speaking world. The goal of the new division for International Development is to export Grupo Secuoya’s business model to emerging markets, especially to Latin American markets in the United States, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Brazil, as well as to Portugal, by founding new companies or acquiring existing ones. The group also considers co-productions, and the distribution of Latin American content in Spain, and vice-versa.
Carlos Benito is 43 years old and holds a degree in Information Technology from the university Universidad Complutense and a PDD from IESE. He joined Prisa as Production Manager for Canal + in 2000. One year later, he was appointed Production Manager of Sogecable. His career started at the newspaper ABC and at Europa Press TV. From 1992 to 1995, he was News producer at Telecinco, and subsequently head of Broadcast Services at Atlas Spain.
