The series by New Atlantis continues to win awards on the international festival scene. It was only a week ago that the series was awarded the Silver Globe at the Hamburg Festival.
Victor Ros continues to reap success at international festivals. On April 14th, at a gala which took place in the USA, the series by New Atlantis was awarded the Gold World Medal at New York’s World’s Best TV and Film Awards in the mini-series category.
“Victor Ros” is a fiction series starring Carles Francino as the main character. The six-part series is based on Jeronimo Tristante’s mystery novels, set in Madrid at the end of the 19th century, where the brilliant inspector solves the most difficult criminal cases using ground-breaking forensics for the era and backed by his loyal team. In this personal life, he gets caught up in a complex love triangle. Esmeralda Moya, Megan Montaner, Tito Valverde, Helio Pedregal, Juan Fernandez and Nacho Fresneda make up the series’ cast.
Co-produced by TVE, New Atlantis (Grupo Secuoya) and Telefonical Studios, the series is directed by Carlos Navarro, Gracia Querejeta and Jorge Sanchez Cabezudo. Eduardo Hidalgo is artistic director and the screenwriters are Javier Olivares (plot director), Pablo Olivares, Anais Schaaff, Paco Lopez Barrio and Jorge Diaz. The six-part series was broadcast this winter on TVE 1 with an average audience share of 10.6% and more than 2.3 million viewers.
This is the second international award granted to the series in less than a week, following the Silver Globe Award at the Hamburg Festival, thus recognising the quality of and interest in Secuoya’s series.
