Through an “emotions meter” that analyses blood pressure, heart rate and skin conductance, Grupo Secuoya’s new talent show offers the chance to witness in real time whether the performances move the audience or not.
Spain once again puts the emphasis on MIPCOM (5th to 8th of October), courtesy of Secuoya Content Distribution (Grupo Secuoya), by introducing this edition’s star format on the selective MIP TV list, in which the French consulting firm The Wit gathers the world’s 25 newest titles
“LubDub” is a talent show where, for the first time, both jury and audience have to decide with their hearts. The participants’ mothers will introduce their children; whose talent they believe is real rather than a mother’s love. They now get to demonstrate it. Audience and jury members hold in their hands an electronic device, which transmits data that proves in a televised form whether or not they have been moved by the performance, irrespective of whether it was good or bad. In this way, neuroscience tools are rigorously applied to television entertainment by means of a scientific test.
During each episode, 8 mothers, convinced that their sons or daughters are truly gifted, will put their criteria to the test, thus demonstrating whether their children’s talent is for real… or whether they are blinded by a mother’s love. To this end, the children face an unprecedented challenge: they have to move the audience and the professional jury, who are 100% honest in their evaluation of the performance, in a manner that is scientifically proven. They use an “emotions meter”, which analyses blood pressure, heart rate and skin conductance. Thus, the show can prove in real time which of the performances is moving… and which is not.
In addition, Secuoya Content Distribution will attend Cannes with “Time Box”. The format was already presented in the previous edition of MIPTV and is being produced in Spain by TVE. The series “Apaches”, which is produced in Spain for Antena 3 and will soon be broadcast on the private channel, will also be presented.
In addition, it is worth highlighting that SCD has included two children’s shows in their catalogue, thanks to which Grupo Secuoya expands its offer of genres in children’s content. The first is an animation show entitled “City Monsters” and the second is a format entitled “The Selfie show”.
