Within the framework of the initiative 'Compromised', the regional television gathered experts in Murcia in sustainable transport and the fight against climate change
On Friday February 28th, Murcia’s Regional Television 7TV, organized the first Forum Committed to Sustainable Mobility, held in the Cultural Hall of the Cajamurcia Foundation (Gran Vía, Bankia’s Building, Murcia).
Experts in sustainable mobility from the Region, Spain and worldwide participated in this forum. The aim was to highlight and share experiences and projects regarding improvements in the transportation of people and goods in terms of sustainable development and the fight against climate change. The reduction of carbon emissions into the atmosphere is one of the main Sustainable Development Objectives (Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible, ODS) that the United Nations has set for all countries in the world, which should lead society to rethink the transport model in all areas: business, institutional and private.
Some of the most important companies in the sector such as RENFE, Cabify, Huertas or Tranvía de Murcia contributed with their experiences and their vision of the future. The voices of the main institutions involved were also heard, such as the City Council of Murcia, the Port Authority of Cartagena or the Spanish Government, and there was also room for some innovative projects, such as that of the Mexican company Biomitech, which presented its artificial tree prototype which regenerates Murcia’s CO2.
