
The new daily morning show on Canal Sur’s Television will premiere next Monday, October 7th, shortly before 11:00 a.m. The broadcast reaches a three hours live, ending before the two o'clock news.
Fernando Díaz de la Guardia leads and directs this space in which also has Paula Sánchez Mercado and Mercedes Lara as hosts, two journalists from Malaga with many years of experience in different mass media. The show is a co-production between Canal Sur and the Andalusian company Secuoya Contenidos, and will take place every morning in Canal Sur’s Production Centre located in Malaga.
HOY EN DÍA is a news and entertainment show for informing, advising, and debating on the daily issues and presenting “the Andalusians to be discovered” who stand out in different fields, as well as well-known personalities from the general public who stand out for their professional career. The show will pay special attention to stories of entrepreneurship, a reflection of a modern and positive Andalucía.
HOY EN DÍA is a proximity show with a friendly tone, in which Andalusians are the main protagonists of the three hours of broadcasting. Each day the program, will connect live with their teams of reporters displaced throughout Andalucia and at the same time will have on-set, a group of experts to understand, with the utmost rigour, the keys to the current news and the morning events.
HOY EN DÍA will report the events taking place in Andalucía, the scientific and cultural activity and will disseminate the work of fellow citizens who give prestige to our society. This coming Monday we will learn about very relevant medical advances such as the work of the Andalusian researcher Mr. Antonio Campos for skin regeneration in people who have suffered from severe burns; or the first in vitro birth performed at the Hospital de Valme (in Dos Hermanas). We will also discover the “unknown” Alhambra and get to know the spectacular sculpture by the brilliant artist Pablo Ruiz Picasso, which is exhibited for the first time in his home town, Malaga.
HOY EN DÍA will interview every morning very popular and loved characters by the general public, as the model and presenter Esther Arroyo, an example of personal improvement after suffering a traffic accident and who is very involved in the fight for personal welfare against pain.
HOY EN DÍA contains different sections such as “Pisando fuerte” which underlines the work of young entrepreneurs such as Ezequiel Moya, an ex-military who has created a touristic project around the Borge and who is the only Andalusian selected among a thousand people for the final of the contest “The most competent entrepreneur” organized by the Endesa Foundation.
HOY EN DÍA gives importance to the preservation of the environment in the “Andalucia is green” section, which shows the work of a company from Malaga in which they transform non-recyclable bags into pipes as well the daily effort of some residents of Jaen who organize cleaning patrols in their neighborhood park to avoid less civic behavior.
HOY EN DÍA will have daily spaces dedicated to physical and emotional health, always with a doctor’s advice, psychologists and nutritionists under the umbrella of the “In positive” section, and they will also echo the viral news and social networks activity in of both external and as well as the program’s itself, which will contain interactive sections for the participation of the audience with games and contests that will complete a pleasant morning, varied and friendly.
