The generalist channel, which is family orientated, is open to the entire public with contents related to news, information and entertainment where nobody will feel left out. Also, it opens the door to the sector and producers that wish to integrate content to the channel.
The Council of Ministers has approved, on the proposal from the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, José Manuel Soria, the adjudication of Grupo Secuoya of a public DVB-T channel in standard definition (SD).
The proposal by Grupo Secuoya, which has achieved one of the six licenses granted by the Government, is a family and generalist channel, arising from the philosophy of being a channel for everyone. The new channel will not discriminate against any segment of the population and will offer a range that will promote diversity, education and entertainment with television programs and digital developments derived from the same. The programs broadcast on the new channel do not exclude, they integrate: programs for the entire public that will bring them together in front of the screen. The design of the offer has been prepared by taking this need into account, as well as the commitment of guarantee a complete, safe and accessible channel 24 hours a day.
The commitment of Grupo Secuoya is to strengthen the Spanish audiovisual sector, not seeking competition with other channels but rather complementing the remaining offers on television. In fact, with this integrating proposal, Grupo Secuoya opens the door to any producers that wish to integrate content to the new channel. “We are not going to be competition for other channels, as our income will not come exclusively from advertising, but rather from international commercialisation of the formats and titles that we generate, therefore we will be contributing to the integration of Spanish audiovisual content, as we are already doing in Murcia with 7TV, where we are revitalising the local sector”, explains Raúl Berdonés, President of Grupo Secuoya. “In this way,” he continues, “the channel will be a fundamental window to provide visibility to the products and formats that are generated in our country. The channel will be a platform to bring everything together, for the sector”.
With this new window for the audiovisual sector, Grupo Secuoya focuses on the elaboration and launch of audiovisual products and formats elaborated in our country which also serves as a launch for the products and formats on an international scale, thus promoting the core business of Grupo Secuoya of producing content and international exploitation of formats. It’s a platform to launch national products of creation and production of television formats: entertainment, fiction, documentaries.
Seven years after its creation, Grupo Secuoya has become the only producer with a DVB-T channel. “This great achievement is not by Secuoya, it has its own name… specifically the name of the more than 800 professionals that form part of the Group and that have achieved, over the years, our leadership with their impulse and dedication. Thanks to them, we have reached the highest peak; this proposal came from the sector, for the sector and for the entire public. Because it is a channel for everyone”, concludes Berdonés.
