The audiovisual group outdid the other four competitors in key factors thanks to their 21st century TV model. According to the specifications, the contract will last three years and can be extended for another three years. The contract is valued in 59.804.132 Euros (without VAT) and will last six years
Secuoya has committed to providing the region of Murcia with a large production centre, enabling the group to export content to other regions and countries thanks to their outreach abroad and presence in other countries. Grupo Secuoya´s proposal is a benchmark in terms of investment in production in the audiovisual sector in the region: it brings together 85% of regional production companies and 82% of local and cable TV channels in the region. As a leader in its field, Secuoya has acquired ample experience and capacity in outsourcing services, creating content and audiovisual services. The group works for over 100 clients in the whole world.
The public tender awards the group with the indirect management of public television, covering the broadcasting of programmes, news and advertising.
The new channel 7RM will create almost 80 direct jobs at the main production centre and almost 300 indirect jobs by means of service providers.
Grupo Secuoya was put forward as the winning candidate for the indirect management of the public services in TV audiovisual communication in the Region of Murcia through its company CBM, which comes under the commercial name Securtel in Murcia.
The wide range of conditions for the management contract of 7RM were easily met, if not surpassed, hence Grupo Secuoya will now manage the project for three years, with a contract extension of a further three years. The group will produce news and public dissemination services as well as entertainment programmes that reflect regional traditions and specificities. According to the conditions set out, the contract is valued in 59.804.132 Euros (VAT not included) and will last for a total of 6 years, including the extension. It is worth highlighting that Grupo Secuoya´s project brings together most production companies and TV channels that are currently operating in Murcia. 34 out of 40 production companies, i.e. 85%, are part of Grupo Secuoy´s proposal, while 82% of local TV channels have also joined. Therefore, having practically all audiovisual services under their umbrella, Grupo Secuoya can guarantee the preservation of the autonomous region´s local character.
The jury valued Secuoya´s bid and believed that the company had the necessary capacity, experience and resources to be able to provide services that will create employment, foster investment in production and produce quality content while adhering to a regional identity, closeness to the viewers and independence. This will be done within a flexible and solvent organizational structure, while advocating the latest technologies and the new screens (Web-TV, YouTube…) Furthermore, the bid offered a better offer than the original call for tender.
Additionally, Secuoya has a long track record in its commitments, solvency and achievements in audiovisual services at a regional level that underpins the projects. The group holds contracts that are still in force and participates in companies that provide similar comprehensive services in the Autonomous Regional TV channels in the Canary and Balearic Islands, as well as specific services required for other regional TV channels. Of course, the company also provides services for national TV, such as Antena 3, TVE1, La Sexta and La 2. As a leader in outsourcing services, creating content and audiovisual services and working for over 100 clients in the whole world, Secuoya is highly experienced and capable.
Secuoya´s model, chosen among other candidates, is based on a modern and innovative TV model that is geared towards the region´s own independent production, following a road map where the broadcaster is not always the main window, thus creating direct added value for the economy through the creation of employment (80 direct jobs and 300 indirect jobs). Investment in production will be fostered along with the regional wealth thanks to a structure that is based on the pillars of culture and news.
The type of regional television that Secuoya designs gets effectively close to local citizens while promoting the regional identity and technological investment in Web TV. This platform aims to generate an international channel that disseminates messages well beyond the country´s borders, thus positioning Murcia as a brand in areas such as tourism and investment in the production sector. Thus, the new 7RM comes with an interactive solid environment that is both innovative and different and is present on the most important devices: Web TV, HbbTV, Android, iPad, smartphones and iPhones. 7RM will also be present on YouTube through a long term strategy.
News public services will be the main pillar in terms of content (60% of programming) and the approach will be to get close to the viewers, based on culture and identity. The winning proposal in this region includes projects that are fully developed by local audiovisual production companies and professionals from Murcia. The jury especially appreciated Secuoya´s focus on new technologies, one of it´s signs of identity, as it contemplates creating a news production centre with new staff, HD video equipment, technical solutions and using world renowned brands. Secuoya´s technological project focuses on all types of technologies for direct remote connections.
