22 April, 2020
With the support of KPMG, CEIM (Madrid Business Confederation)-CEPYME (Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises) and the Spain Film Commission, it will take place on Thursday 23 April at 11.30 am
We never thought that we would have to live a situation as dramatic as the one we are living. The health crisis that has been triggered has been overlaid by a global social and economic crisis. The audiovisual industry, and with greater virulence the production, is being one of the most affected sectors. However, we are convinced that, once the epidemic has been halted by very drastic measures, we are in a position to take urgent action to restore economic activity in a short space of time. As some industrial sectors have already done and as many others will soon do. In order to achieve this objective, and in anticipation of providing all the equipment with the necessary tools to return to recording and filming as soon as possible, the Fundacion Secuoya has prepared a guide to restart this activity with the necessary security during the COVID-19 period. This is a set of measures of totally voluntary application, made available to each professional so that they can freely implement, copy or even merge them with other already existing manuals.
The guide, commissioned by Grupo Secuoya to Fundacion Secuoya, has been revised by KPMG, as well as with the collaboration of CEIM, the Business Confederation of Madrid, CEPYME (Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises) and the Spain Film Commission. In addition, other professional associations are also joining this guide.
The document is an exhaustive guide to guarantee the safety of all professionals involved in an audiovisual shoot or production. It includes indoor work (studios) as well as outdoor filming and it also differentiates the type of audiovisual work: cinema/fiction and entertainment.
The protocol includes cleaning, preventive and collective safety measures. It also deals with how to design access controls, shifts and the necessary infrastructure, ranging from new communication protocols between workers to food supply in catering. The protocol is a fundamental part of a broader organizational and management model related to cleaning, hygiene and social distancing measures.
This guide aims to make the resumption of filming and recording a reality, safely and as soon as the conditions are fulfilled. The details of the guide will be presented at the digital meeting next Thursday. The president of the Fundación Secuoya, Raúl Berdonés; the head of Human Resources of Grupo Secuoya, Antonio Ramos; Rafael Tejedor, Director of Government, Risk and Compliance of KPMG in Spain; Miguel Garrido, president of CEIM and Carlos Rosado, president of the Spain Film Commission will participate in the meeting. Participation is open to all audiovisual professionals who will also have the opportunity to resolve any doubts during the questions session that will conclude the event. Attendance at the digital meeting is free and on that same Thursday those interested can download the complete protocol in a PDF format from the Fundación Secuoya’s website (www.fundacionsecuoya.org).
